Making Homes Affordable for Canadians

CALA is a not-for-profit organization solving Canada's housing crisis by making affordable housing a standalone, investable asset class, geting homes built for the essential workers who keep our cities running.

Our Mission

Tackling the affordable housing crisis head-on with a hands-on approach

Canadian Workforce Housing

Teachers, nurses, firefighters, trades workers and more are the backbone of every Canadian city. CALA exists to support more affordable living by housing them near where they serve, so a school teacher in Vancouver doesn't have to commute from Langley and a nurse in Mississauga doesn’t have to commute into Downtown Toronto.

Multi-Level Government Collaboration

Working across all three levels of government, CALA coordinates the incentives needed to move stalled, shovel-ready projects into production. The policy amendments required are neither new nor untested, each has been successfully implemented before. With CALA's guidance, developers can navigate the red tape and redirect capital toward efficient, affordable housing development.

Breaking the Mold

Replacing ad hoc housing policies and long processes with a clear, scalable framework, backed by real development economics and protection for governments against developer profiteering. Moving our conversations to construction.

The 30-30-30 Model

Our flagship commitment: 30% of units in every Qualified Project delivered at rents 30% below city-wide average market rates, guaranteed for 30 years. A win for developers, investors, and most importantly, the renters who need a livable, affordable home.
